I am 22 and studying for a PhD.
Yet, the prospect of building a blanket fort still is an amazing thing to do on a day off! It was a pretty simple endevour. Got some hooks, string and blankets from Tesco, tied it all together with some washing line pegs and BOOM. I have my very own blanket fort ala Community (if you don’t watch that show, I would thoroughly recommend it).

More photos after the break…

I’m creating a centralised server to host my own source control system.
I needed to repair my old mac mini as it has just sat there looking sorry for itself. In my third year of uni, I bought my parents an old 12″ PowerBook as a way of saying thankyou for everything they’ve done. Unfortunately the hard drive connector decided to die after a few months meaning lots of photos were stuck on the hard drive. I know Apple are quite funny when it comes to proprietary connectors. Low and behold, the hard drive had a funny connector. I took a gamble and hoped the mac mini had a comparable hard drive connection so I could rescue the data.
After taking the mini apart, I found out it had the exact same connector and was able to rescue the data (part of the OS had become corrupt as well so rescuing the data was a whole mission in itself but that is a whole other story).
So now, it was a case of putting it back together again and hoping everything just…worked!

These are the important (material) things in my life.
If my house was to theoretically burn down (which obviously isn’t desirable!) these are the four things I would grab before running out (I’m including the camera in these 4 things). As long as I have somewhere to jot down ideas, look at pictures of cats or take pictures of cats, then I am a happy man.
